How do you keep all of your students organized with an endless slew of due dates? I use an ELA Newsletter! Not only does this organize my students, but it helps parents. As an added bonus, it also helps me keep track of all of the lists, due dates, skills and strategies for each of my many sections!

On my ELA Newsletter, I lay out all of the separate sub-categories that students will need to know. Then, I list all of the terms, definitions, stories, skills, and strategies. I will even notate if there is a separate sheet that they should reference. Finally, I list all of the test dates on the bottom of each list. 

Whenever I hand out an ELA Newsletter, I have my students highlight the test dates and add them to their planners. My students also utilize a take-home folder that has a plastic sleeve on the cover. They place the current ELA Newsletter right in the front sleeve so that it is always handy! I also email the ELA Newsletter to parents and post it on my school website.
