Digital Teaching Resources: Teachers Pay Teachers Easel™

The biggest headache of distance learning was converting all of my resources to a digital format. Specifically, turning all of my PDFs into editable forms was agonizing. Click here to read all of the lessons I learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. One resource that I found to be particularly helpful was Teachers Pay Teachers Easel™.

Easel™ is an extension of Teachers Pay Teachers in which sellers can opt into Easel™ participation. If they opt in, the hardcopy resource is automatically applied to an editable PDF that can be automatically assigned in Google Classroom™. Some sellers edit the Easel™ version so that answer boxes and interactive features are already available when you download the product. Others are simply linked, and the teacher can add editable features.

When you open your Easel account, you will see the activities and assessments that you have available. You can also click the purple “Create” button to make your own resources on Easel™.

Once you click into an activity, you can add interactive features. Then you can assign the activity through Google Classroom or through an online link.

A teacher dashboard populates which allows you to see who submitted the assignment, how many students were assigned, and any completed assignments.

When students receive the assignment, they are able to flip through each page and utilize the interactive features. Students can type answers, utilize various colors of pens and highlighters, and add images and shapes. My students love using Easel because they can automatically edit the PDF and it is very user-friendly. We do not have to take pictures of the document and then add text-boxes individually. Easel is designed for students to automatically work on without the teacher having to create a brand new resource.
